2021 Porsche Taycan

Since Porsche was founded in 1931, the brand has released a string of powerful sports cars and supercars that directly compete with — and conquer — others on the market. Three supercars that have stood out over the years include the Carrera GT, 918 Spyder, and Taycan. All three bring something truly unique to the table, and deliver riveting performance that simply can’t be duplicated. Learn more about each of these incredible models below, and see for yourself why Porsche and motorsports go hand-in-hand.

Porsche Carrera GT – The Ground-Breaking Porsche Supercar

Fast-accelerating and a trend-setter for Porsche supercars to come, the Porsche Carrera GT has a 0-60 mph time of 3.5. About 3.3 seconds later, the Carrera GT reaches 100 mph. It also has a top speed of about 205 mph. This incredible speed is made possible by its 5.7L V10 engine paired with a 6-speed manual with a traditional clutch. At its peak, the engine delivers a roaring 605 hp @ 800 rpm and 435 lb-ft of torque @ 5750 rpm. The cockpit only enhances the driving experience, thanks largely to vibration-absorbing engine mounts. The interior itself offers the following upscale features:

  • Leather and alloy interior accents
  • Leather-wrapped steering wheel
  • Two one-touch power windows
  • Heated mirrors
  • Remote keyless power door locks
  • Trip computer
  • Sport front seats
  • Leather upholstery

Porsche 918 Spyder — The Porsche Hybrid Supercar

For years, Porsche worked to build a supercar that lives up to the reputation of the Carrera GT. The 918 Spyder is one such car! What’s more, it’s a plug-in hybrid, which at the time of its release, made it a major stand-out. Equipped with a mid-mounted V8 engine and electric motors, the 918 Spyder delivers a combined 887 hp and 944 lb-ft of torque. This immense power leads to a pulse-pounding top speed of up to 211 mph and a 0-60 mph acceleration time of 2.5 seconds. It also looks the part of a supercar, with a low front-end and an ultra-modern cabin that’s equipped with:

  • Leather interior trim
  • Power windows with one-touch operation
  • Dual-zone automatic climate control
  • A tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel
  • Trip computer
  • Cruise control
  • Power-adjustable and heated exterior mirrors

Porsche Taycan — The Porsche Electric Supercar

The 670-hp Porsche Taycan Turbo and 750-hp Turbo S deliver electric-only performance that rivals today’s supercars. Its two-speed transmission allows drivers to shift during fast-paced acceleration, creating a driving experience that’s truly gripping. Speaking of acceleration, the Turbo S is one of the quickest cars on the market, reaching 60 mph from a standstill in 2.4 seconds. This speed puts the Taycan Turbo S in the same arena as the Porsche 918 Spyder and Lamborghini Huracán Performante. Also, unlike the 918 Spyder and Carrera GT, this Porsche EV supercar is still in production and offers these features:

  • 8-way power seats
  • Porsche Vehicle Tracking System (PVTS)
  • Porsche Connect with Apple CarPlay®
  • SiriusXM® Satellite Radio
  • HD Radio™ Receiver
  • Smartphone compartment with inductive charging
