The Proper Oil Change Interval

December 28th, 2017 by

Oil is an essential fluid for an internal combustion engine in any vehicle regardless of make or model. Oil lubricates the internal parts of the engine and prevents damage caused by friction. It also allows an engine to operate more efficiently by lowering the amount of heat that is caused by friction. This extends the life of internal components such as crankshafts and bearings. Many people dutifully have their oil changed every 3000 miles because that is what they have been taught.

While this rule was a good one to follow in the last it is now recommended that newer vehicles have their oil serviced every 7500-10000 miles. This increase in duration between oil changes means that more drivers can save money and time by not having to visit service centers as frequently to have their oil changed. We here at Rusnak/Pasadena Porsche welcome you to stop by our service centers when the time comes to have your oil changed. Our trained technicians will get you back on your way quickly and keep your Porsche performing at the highest possible level.
