How to Clean Convertible Car Tops

• Fabric convertible top care – Fabric tops are more prone to damage than hardtops. This is why it’s important to clean them properly. First, you’ll want to get together a soft scrub brush and a lot of water. Once the top is thoroughly wet, apply a fabric cleaner, and use the brush to gently dislodge dirt without damaging the top. Once you’re done, thoroughly rinse the top until there’s no more visible cleaning product left. Then carefully dry the top with a microfiber towel. These are less likely to leave behind lint.
• Vinyl convertible top care– Cleaning a vinyl convertible top is similar to that of the fabric tops, however, the cleaning products are very specific for vinyl materials. Using any others than those recommended will result in damage. We advise you to wash the vehicle in the shade or a covered area in order to avoid the sunlight evaporating the water, leaving residue. After you apply the cleaning product, use a soft-bristle brush to clean the top. Then thoroughly rinse the vinyl and dry with microfiber cloths. Warning: do not use the brush on the plastic back window (if equipped) as it’s prone to scratches.

What Not to Use
