What is the Porsche 718 Maintenance Schedule?

2022 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS

Whether you drive the 718 Cayman or the 718 Boxster, you can ensure that your sports car lasts as long as possible by following the Porsche 718 maintenance schedule to a T. And, when you schedule service at an authorized Porsche dealership like Rusnak/Pasadena, we’ll know exactly what services to complete whenever you stop in. We also work with advanced diagnostic tools that can catch major issues before they start to slow you down.

With that said, a closer look at this model’s required services can help you budget for your Porsche 718 Boxster and Porsche 718 Cayman maintenance costs—or complete certain services on your own, if so desired. We’ve laid out everything you need to know to get started.

Basic Porsche 718 Maintenance: Every 10,000 Miles

You should visit your preferred Porsche service center at least once every 10,000 miles, or roughly once per year. During this visit, your technician will change your vehicle’s motor oil and oil filter, rotate your tires, and perform a visual inspection of key components, including your brake lines, air filters, headlights, and underbody panels.

Intermediate Porsche 718 Maintenance: Every 20,000 Miles

At every 20,000-mile interval—or roughly once every two years—your Porsche 718 will receive a more extensive range of services. In addition to the items included with every 10,000-mile appointment, your 20,000-mile service includes:

  • Change engine oil and oil filter
  • Replace pollen filter elements
  • Replace brake fluid
  • Inspect/replace braking system components as needed
  • Inspect/replace tires as needed
  • Inspect and replenish coolant
  • Read fault memory of the diagnostic system
  • Inspect drive shafts
  • Inspect axle joints
  • Inspect exhaust system
  • Visual inspection of radiators and air intakes
  • Inspect/replace windshield wipers & wiper fluid as needed
  • Inspect and care for convertible top (Boxster only)
  • Road test

Moving forward, you’ll continue to schedule to complete these services once every 20,000 miles or two years.

Replace Spark Plugs: Every 30,000 Miles

When you schedule service at 30,000, 60,000, 90,000, or 120,000 miles—and so on—you’ll need to include one additional service in your request! With fresh spark plugs, you’ll enjoy quicker starts and better fuel economy.

Additional Porsche 718 Maintenance

At select intervals, a number of additional services need to be completed to keep you on track:

  • Check drive belt at 40,000 miles, 100,000 miles, and 160,000 miles
  • Replace drive belt at 60,000 miles and 120,000 miles
  • Change PDK clutch oil every 60,000 miles
  • Change PDK transmission oil / manual transmission oil every 120,000 miles
  • Change AWD controller oil every 60,000 miles (AWD models only)
  • Change front differential oil every 120,000 miles (AWD models only)
