Porsche History: Then and Now

So when was Porsche founded and by whom? Ferdinand Porsche started his company in 1931 as a consultant for vehicle development. While he was originally commissioned by the German government to help found Volkswagen, he officially turned to producing performance models of his own in 1948. Soon after is where the first official production of Porsche models began and the Porsche 356 was officially launched.

This model became very popular due to its lightweight construction. Next up to be released was the Porsche 550 which was on the market in 1952, quickly becoming the most popular race car. In 1964, the 356 was set to retire, and was replaced by the now-legendary Porsche 911.

Today, Porsche models offer a thrilling performance that goes unmatched. Simply check out our high-performing luxury model inventory to see for yourself. What’s more? You gain a great performance without losing out on interior luxuries.
