This new iteration comes complete with a new engine, redesigned aerodynamics, the widest tires ever fitted to a 911 from the factory and an even new app for documenting track days! The new GT3 RS is wider even than the current GT3. Wearing the 911 Turbo’s widebody and even the intake vents on the side, the new RennSport 911 looks more imposing than ever, as it should because it packs a brand new 4.0 liter flat six which produces 520 horsepower! This sounds similar to the GT3 RS 4.0 from a few years ago, but this new 4.0 is based on the new direct injection engine and is mated to a PDK specifically designed for the new car. This new 911 is faster than the Carrera GT and the 997 GT2 RS around the Nurburgring, let alone faster than the current GT3.
A magnesium roof is in place to reduce weight and lower the center of gravity, the front storage area, front valence are constructed out of carbon fiber. The roof features a double-bubble style which accommodates racing helmets. The standard bucket seats are structured with CFRP (carbon-fiber-reinforced-plastic) and the vents over the front wheels provide functional downforce on the front axle. The 991 is truly a design without compromise. If you would like to know more about the new GT3 RS, we would love to share.
